Sleep Disorders

"Sleep-wake disorders are marked by disturbances in sleep patterns. They may impact physical, mental, and emotional health. External factors can cause sleep disorders. These may include anxiety, depression, trauma, or a life transition. If you have sleep issues, it is important to report any symptoms to your doctor. Sleep plays a large role in the healthy functioning of the mind and body. Therapists or other mental health professionals can offer support for people with sleep/wake disorders. They may share coping solutions for long-term sleep issues. In therapy, people may learn skills for improving their sleep hygiene. Therapists can also address the mental health aspect of sleep disorders. They may help people manage mental health related impacts of sleep issues."
